Bringing the YNK Brand to Life
As part of my contract with the Canadian Council on Invasive Species, I designed the Youth Nature Keepers (YNK) website, aligning it with the fun and vibrant color palette introduced in the YNK logo. The website was built to appeal to both YNK Coordinators and Volunteers, who played an active role as a focus group throughout the design process.
A Blend of Authenticity and Style
Using the versatile Avada theme in WordPress, I created a visually engaging site that blends stock photos of Canadian landscapes with authentic images captured during fieldwork interviews with youth across the country. The use of coordinator- and youth-supplied photos further encouraged social engagement and participation.
Visual Elements that Engage and Guide
Stock icons were incorporated to add a youthful touch and guide users through key sections of the site.
Fostering Connection and Community
This website not only captures the spirit of the Youth Nature Keepers program but also fosters a sense of community and connection among the volunteers working to protect Canada's natural landscapes.
